A unique place where in the short stretch of 2 km, framing the city of Frascati, a few kilometers from Rome, there are 12 Renaissance villas, built between the 16th and 17th centuries. By Roman noble families as holiday residences.
Today some have been transformed into hotels, others for conference purposes, others remain the property of the ancient noble families but all retain the ancient charm of the period.
How not to enjoy the Gardens and the grandiose Nymphaeum of Villa Aldobrandini (Belvedere) which, from a panoramic hill overlooking the entrance to the town, tells a centuries-old story, divided between important families and the papacy. Then the stupendous Teatro delle Acque of Villa Torlonia designed by Carlo Maderno and then move on to the imposing Villa Mondragone, rich in history with the Sala delle Cariatidi and the Sala Rossa stupendously frescoed, the magnificent Portico de Vasanzio and a wonderful view of Rome from the Garden Secret.
Finally, the Villa Falconieri, designed by Antonio da Sangallo and Borromini, with beautiful frescoed rooms and now home to an important and exclusive Latin school and the Villa Grazioli, now a hotel, with the unmissable frescoes of the Pannini Gallery.
